2019-06-12Move isIVSSelector, isCJKIVSCharacter to i18nutil/unicode.hxxStephan Bergmann
6a7db071c75609093fc3a9cbc297b8069726a33e "tdf#125497 allow backspace to remove CJK IVS" had moved these functions from sw/source/uibase/wrtsh/delete.cxx to rtl/character.hxx, but the latter appears to be a less than ideal home for them: For one, it is part of the stable URE interface, which makes it harder to maintain (e.g., later versions of Unicode have added CJK Extension C--F code blocks, which the current implementation of isCJKIVSCharacter does not reflect). And for another, besides details of legacy/ubiquitous ASCII, it only deals with the "hard" structure of Unicode (isUnicodeCodePoint, isSurrogate, etc.), not with any specific code blocks or character classifications (which can change over time). Internal i18nutil/unicode.hxx appears to be better suited. Doxygen is misled by the "127." at the beginning of a sentence and converts it to "<ol><li>..." So it is erroneously rendered as: all ASCII characters are in the allowed range between 0 and 1. ...but for safety, leave the configure.ac check in for some longer. o3tl::array_view::max_size (include/o3tl/array_view.hxx) and o3tl::basic_string_view::max_size (include/o3tl/string_view.hxx) started to produce loplugin:staticmethods warnings, which I silenced by /not/ making the functions static. Those classes are meant to be temporary drop-in replacements for standard classes (std::span slated for C++20, prev. std::array_view; and std::basic_string_view, resp.), so should have the same behavior as their standard counterparts (and making the functions static would likely cause loplugin:staticaccess warnings at call sites). rtl_[u]String_alloc now requires that the length be >= 0. Since this function is only @since Libreoffice 4.1, it is unlikely to be widely used externally. Removed some unit tests that were testing invalid or out of range paramers, which are already not allowed according to the documented contract of those functions. The change in writerfilter is because the new asserts triggered when running testFdo74745 The change in SwTextNode::EraseText is because testFdo60842 triggered the assert in replaceAt. The change in SwFieldSlot::SwFieldSlot is because testMoveRange::Import_Export_Import triggered the assert in replaceAt. The changes in SwFieldSlot::SwFieldSlot and TabControl::ImplGetItemSize are due to failures in the uitests. It could be argued that the alleged benefits of that mechanism (if it were still working) might be real (at least on some platforms; which would need measurements), and that it should be made working again (by reverting the effects of both ce906b8096081dee15dc8cc96e570d5b0b587955 'skip tricky allocators on G_SLICE=always-malloc' and bc6a5d8e79e7d0e7d75ac107aa8e6aa275e434e9 'Disable custom allocator' on rtl_cache_alloc/free again). But it could just as well be argued that the 'rtl_cache' mechanism is effectively gone for long enough now (since end of November, 2017, with bc6a5d8e79e7d0e7d75ac107aa8e6aa275e434e9 'Disable custom allocator') without any (apparent) negative consequences, so that it can be removed for good with this change." rtl_arena_create's quantum_cache_max parameter (when non-zero) would have allowed an rtl_arena to internally use an rtl_cache for chunk allocation. (And none of the LO-internal uses of rtl_arena_create makes use of that.) However, with the combination of old ce906b8096081dee15dc8cc96e570d5b0b587955 "skip tricky allocators on G_SLICE=always-malloc" and recent bc6a5d8e79e7d0e7d75ac107aa8e6aa275e434e9 "Disable custom allocator", rtl_cache unconditionally just uses malloc/free now, so the rtl_arena_create quantum_cache_max feature has effectively become irrelevant. As those changes appear to have no negative consequences overall (and help remove quite a chunk of no-longer used code), leave it at that and officially abandon the quantum_cache_max feature. There are apparently various places that want to check for a Unicode scalar value rather than for a Unicode code point. Changed those uses of rtl::isUnicodeCodePoint where that was obvious. (For changing svtools/source/svrtf/svparser.cxx see 8e0fb74dc01927b60d8b868548ef8fe1d7a80ce3 "Revert 'svtools: HTML import: don't put lone surrogates in OUString'".) Other uses of rtl::isUnicodeCodePoint might also want to use rtl::isUnicodeScalarValue instead. The latter treats as whitespaces not only characters with values less than or equal to 32, but also Unicode General Punctuation area Space and some Control characters. Thus, using OUString::trim() is incorrect when the goal is to trim XML whitespace, which is defined as one of 0x09, 0x0A, 0x0D, 0x20. The comments for OUString::trim() and rtl_uString_newTrim are corrected to describe which characters are considered whitespace. A unit test included.
