2024-04-28Extended loplugin:ostr manual changesStephan Bergmann
I had done these a while ago, when I looked into extending loplugin:ostr to do more automatic rewriting, and these were places where I needed to do something manually, for one reason or another, because the automatic rewriting would not pick it up correctly. However, I got distracted, and a wholesale automatic rewrite would still run into cases where an _ostr/_ustr instance from a library's .rodata would still be referenced after the library has already been dlcose'd. So I never came around to finishing all that. But there appears to be renewed interest in (automatic) rewritings here now, so it probably makes sense if I share this part of my work anyway. Originally, CentimetersToPoints was implemented as a base method for Writer and Calc. They are both using the same implementation, which is correct for Writer, but wrong for Calc. Since their behavior should be different, I remove the base method and implement a correct one for Calc. This so-called modern content control is rather terrible for VBA programmers. It has no modifiable ID! Instead, there is a random _signed-integer_ as a unique id. How descriptive... Since it is an integer, it can't be passed to Item(), because then it would be an index lookup. Instead, you can pass it as a float (indicated by a #) or as a _unsigned-integer_ string. 2020-04-27Make upcasting css::uno::Reference ctor require complete typesStephan Bergmann
The main reason for the "home-grown" UpCast introduced with 904b3d1fceee5827076758ed2a81f80cb73493ca "Up-cast conversion constructor for css::uno::Reference" in 2013 was probably that we could not yet rely on C++11 std::is_base_of back then. A (welcome) side effect was that the derived class could be incomplete. However, specializations of UpCast relying on whether or not T2 is incomplete are obviously an ODR violation if the type is incomplete in some TUs and complete (and derived from T1) in others. And even if UpCast had internal linkage, it would still be brittle that its behavior depends on the completeness of T2 at the point of the template's instantiation, and not necessarily at the point of use. That means we should better base that ctor on std::is_base_of (which we can do now since 39a1edd6fec902ef378acce8af42c4d7fba280d0 "Make css::uno::Reference upcast ctor LIBO_INTERNAL_ONLY"), which causes a compilation error at least on Clang and GCC if the completeness requirements are not met. This change fixes all the cases where types need to be complete now, plus any resulting loplugin:referencecasting warnings ("the source reference is already a subtype of the destination reference"). Implementation is just a dummy, though. At first I thought that it would work to get the XModel of the "current" document (as returned by getCurrentDocument()), and then get the XFrame of that, and then use the XFrame's getName() and setName(). But, it seems that getCurrentDocument() and what it calls is tightly coupled to StarBasic, and it doesn't do anything sane in the case of Automation clients.
