They are basically the same thing, but alpha is the preferred term these days. Although this change is questionable, it's intended to avoid crashes (tdf#139074); a better fix should replace this eventually. Optionally releasing a lock isn't a good API and might hide other bugs, but the better solution to handle all requests in the main thread would need an even larger rewrite of the Windows clipboard code. It's simply too late for that in this LO release cycle. 2020-12-30vcl: remove {Read,Write}ImpGraphic and ImplExportNative from GraphicTomaž Vajngerl
ReadImpGraphic and WriteImpGraphic have been reimplemented in the TypeSerializer some time ago, but the code has not yet been moved to use that class. This commits does that and changes all the code using those 2 methods and removes them. With this implemented in the TypeSerializer, it is easier to handle In addition it also removes ImplExportNative (and the method on the Graphic interface). This was really used only in one method, and it could be implemented in the mthod itself. 2020-12-28vcl: remove OutputDevice::ScaleBitmapChris Sherlock
Some time ago, in an attempt to remove a check on OutDevType I refactored some code into the function ScaleBitmap(). When I look at this more closely, I realise that I missed the point of the function. The code I refactored actually checked if subsampled scaling could be done. Thus, the function is inaccurate - it only scales *down* a bitmap, and in fact scaling is already done in Bitmap. Instead, I have now moved the function back into the code and replaced it with a virtual function that checks if the OutputDevice derived class can actually do bitmap subsampling (Printer is unable to do subsampling).
