This change is not about speed improvements but diverse
preparations to make changes/reading/understanding easier.
It does not change speed AFAIK.
Added a global static debug-only counter to allow getting
an overview over number of all allocated SfxPoolItem's
and the still alloated ones at office shutdown. The values
are used in Application::~Application to make a short info
statement. It allows to be able to quickly detect if an
error in future changes may lead to memory losses - these
would show in dramaitically higher numbers then (hopefully)
immediately.
Moved SfxVoidItem to own source/header.
Added container library interface support to SfxItemSet,
adapted already some methods to use it - not all possible,
I will commit & get status from gerrit 1st if all still works
and then continue.
Changed INVALID_POOL_ITEM from -1 to use a global unique
incarnation of an isolated derivation from SfxPoolItem. It
allows to avoid the (-1) pointer hack. Since still just
pointers are compared it's not worse. NOTE: That way, more
'special' SfxPoolItem's may be used for more States - a
candidate is e.g. SfxVoidItem(0) which represents ::DISABLED
state -- unfortunately not only, it is also used (mainly for
UI stuff) with 'real' WhichIDs - hard to sort out, will have
to stay that way for now AFAIK.
Changed INVALID_POOL_ITEM stuff to use a static extern
incarnated item in combination with a inline method
to return it, called GetGlobalStaticInvalidItemInstance().
Isolated create/cleanup of a SfxPoolItem entry in
SfxItemSet to further modularize/simplify that. It is
currently from constructor & destructor but already shows
that PoolDefaults are handled differently - probably an
error. Still, for now, do no change in behaviour (yet).
Got regular 'killed by the Kill-Wrapper' messages from
gerrit, seems to have to do with UITest_sw_findReplace.
That python/c++ scripting stuff is hard to debug, but
finally I identified the problem has to do with
the INVALID_POOL_ITEM change. It was in
SfxItemSet::InvalidateAllItems() where still a (-1)
was used -> chaos in detecting invalid items.

...instead of by listing the content somewhat redundantly in the Rdb_*.mk
files, to avoid duplication of logic for components that are only built
conditionally (and thus should only be included conditionally in the
corresponding Rdb). To achieve that, add an "rdb" parameter to
gb_ComponentTarget_ComponentTarget (and to the gb_*_set_componentfile macros
that internally call gb_ComponentTarget_ComponentTarget), which is used to make
the appropriate gb_Rdb_add_component call internally from within
gb_ComponentTarget_ComponentTarget. (As a special case,
gb_CppunitTest_set_componentfile shall not call gb_Rdb_add_component, as that
has already been done by the corresponding gb_Library_set_componentfile call, so
allow the gb_ComponentTarget_ComponentTarget "rdb" parameter to be empty to
support that special case.)
Most Rdb_*.mk files are thus mostly empty now. One exception is
i18npool/Rdb_saxparser.mk, which duplicates some of the Rdb_services content as
needed during the build in CustomTarget_i18npool/localedata.
1c9a40299d328c78c035ca63ccdf22c5c669a03b "gbuild: create services.rdb from built
components" had already tried to do something similar (in addition to other
things) under a new --enable-services-rdb-from-build option. However, that
approach had four drawbacks that this approach here addresses (and which thus
partly reverts 1c9a40299d328c78c035ca63ccdf22c5c669a03b):
1 Rdb_services shall not contain the component files of all libraries that are
built. While that commit filtered out the component files that go into
Rdb_ure/services (ure/Rdb_ure.mk), it failed to filter out the component files
that go into others like Rdb_postgresql-sdbc
(connectivity/Rdb_postgresql-sdbc.mk).
2 The code added by that commit to Makefile.gbuild codified the knowledge that
there is an Rdb_services, which is brittle.
3 The code added by that commit to solenv/gbuild/Rdb.mk codified the knowledge
(for gb_Rdb__URECOMPONENTS) that there is an Rdb_ure/services, which is brittle.
4 Introducing an --enable-services-rdb-from-build option needlessly provided
two different ways how the content of Rdb_services is assembled.
The changes done here would leave --enable-services-rdb-from-build as a
misnomer, as it no longer controls how Rdb_services is assembled. I thus
renamed it to --enable-customtarget-components, as that is apparently what it
still does now.

It's somewhat confusing that an accessor is provided to give
a reference to internal data and then the object is modified
indirectly using the reference. It appears to be only for
performance reasons, so I thought that inlining the ctor and
ctor could help the compiler to optimize this, but apparently
it can't move this outside of the loop, so at least make it
clearer.

We must link nss statically, including the three dylibs that normally
are loaded at run-time, because including bare dylibs in an iOS appp
on the App Store is not OK. See
https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/125796 .
For linking the softokn3 library statically, NSS already had code,
behind NSS_STATIC_SOFTOKEN ifdefs. Introduce two more macros:
NSS_STATIC_FREEBL for the freebl library and NSS_STATIC_PKCS11 for the
nssckbi library.
Turn off parallelism for the sub-make building nss. There seems to be
race conditions or something when running simultaneous instances of
the nsinstall.py script or the nsinstall program in nss (used when
building nss for the build platform).
When cross-compiling from macOS, use python3 to run the nsinstall.py
script, as it is Python 3.

... representation of given decimal.
Use dtoa.c from https://www.netlib.org/fp/dtoa.c to build a custom
static library that doesn't use current locale (unlike strtod from
stdlib.h). This is the implementation used by e.g. python and nss
(search for "dtoa.c" under UnpackedTarball).
To avoid name clash with the standard strtod, rename the function
to strtod_nolocale.
Size of buffer on stack in ImpSvNumberInputScan::StringToDouble is
256 characters. Logging function usage in make check, of ~124 600
invocations, the longest string was 14 characters, average being
2.1 characters. So heap allocation is unlikely in scenarios with
intensive function usage.
After std::from_chars is available in baseline compilers, external
library can be dropped, and call to strtod_nolocale replaced with
the standard function.
The artifact at https://dev-www.libreoffice.org/src/dtoa-20180411.tgz
is created with
mkdir dtoa && mkdir dtoa/src && wget https://www.netlib.org/fp/dtoa.c -O dtoa/src/dtoa.c && \

Building against libstdc++ effectively always requires -pthread anyway (as
various standard C++ headers require it, see the comment added to
solenv/gbuild/platform/unxgcc.mk), so many explicit uses of -pthread/-lpthread
can be removed.
Doing a (partial) test build on Linux with Clang -stdlib=libc++ suggests that
libc++ indeed doesn't need -pthread as libstdc++ does.
The remaining uses of -pthread/-lpthread are mostly in configure.ac for the
various BSDs (which somebody else might want to clean up now), and related to
external projects. I tried to be careful to remove -pthread/-lpthread from
makefiles only when C++ object files are involved (so -pthread will now be
included on the link command line by default).
