This is 'libreoffice-7-5' - the stable branch for the 7.5.x releases. The commit rules are different according to the development phase: A. 7.5.0 beta phase: A. any bug fixes are allowed without review B. late features need approval by 3 people with different affiliation B. 7.5.0 rc phase and later: A. fixes need approval by one reviewer B. late features need approval by 3 more people with different affiliation IMPORTANT: Every developer is responsible for pushing the fixes into all appropriate branches. Note that we do not plan any merge from this branch to master or vice versa. Please, help use to make stable and usable release. If you want to build something cool, unstable, and risky, use master. 2022-09-23Recognise umlauts typed as -e on non DE keyboardAron Fischer
This change helps the spellchecker to find correct words if the misspelling consists of replacement of Umlauts with their vowel+e variants. The file already contains entries such as "REP ae ä" on line 519 or "REP ss ß" on line 507. This tells the checker to try first replacing ae as ä and see if that works or to try replacing ss with ß and see if that works. This will only succeed if there is a single instance in the word that needs to be replaced. The word "greetings" typed as "Gruesse" was causing me trouble as it contains both ue and ss next to each other and the REP commands do not catch this. The MAP command seems to play a somewhat similar role as REP but whereas REP deals typically with "one character mistakes", MAP just defines character sequences that are related in a language specific setting and works with multiple replacements within a single word. See here for details: https://www.systutorials.com/docs/linux/man/4-hunspell/ In any event, I doubt it can cause harm because the character sequences that I am relating in the MAP commands are actually related in the German language, and furthermore I am not changing any spelling rules, I am just aiding in the search for correct spelling suggestions. It's really new dictionary, which is based on the new Belarusian grammar database. This database contains ~265ths paradigm and ~4.5mln wordforms. It's most complete list of words of Belarusian language for today. Dictionary for LibreOffice doesn't include all words, of course, but only words from official academic dictionaries. This database will be officially released at the beginning of October, 2021 under the label of the Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus at https://github.com/Belarus/GrammarDB. Old dictionary doesn't contain so complete list of wordforms (there are many missed words) and was based on old lists of words from different sources. "Official" means official orthography. There is also widely-used "Classical Orthography" or "Taraškievica" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tara%C5%A1kievica). Rules for official orthography were revised in 2008. This dictionary fully correspond with new (2008) rules and academic dictionaries. Old LibreOffice dictionary contained words by 1957 rules. Differences between 1957 and 2008 rules are not so big, but they exist.
