2021-10-27Update help description of Calc’s TRUNC function.Steve Fanning
The help description for Calc’s TRUNC function currently does not indicate that the Count argument is optional. However, the help description for the ROUNDDOWN function does show the Count argument as optional. Since both user functions are implemented via one C++ function (ScRoundDown()), the optionality status of arguments should be the same for both functions. This was checked by confirming that the formulas =ROUNDDOWN(-45.67) and =TRUNC(-45.67) give the same return value (-45). This change updates the optionality status of Count for the TRUNC function and provides the additional example given above. The earlier change (reverted) overlooked the difference between "Merge Cells" and "Merge and Center Cells", leaving users without adequate means to merge cells while retaining text alignment. This patch restores previous usability and moves forward to resolve the issues raised in this bug report. Reverted the two changes from earlier work on tdf#33749: 1) Cell context menu back to 7.2 2) Format - Merge Cells menu back to 7.2 3) Help pages to reflect that Moving forward with the following changes: 1) Rename "Split Cells" to "Unmerge Cells" (Calc only) 2) Add "Merge Cells" and "Unmerge Cells" to the Formatting toolbar alongside "Merge and Center Cells". 3) Re-label the Format - Merge Cells menu to Format - Merge and Unmerge Cells. 4) Help pages to reflect core including fixing the duplicate entry in the built help/hid2file.js by consolidating the relevant Calc and Writer help pages together to remove the duplicate bookmark hid branch value. Removed the module specific version. 5) Removed duplicate entry from helpers/unocmds.txt. Replaced the entire "Format > Merge Cells" submenu with the single "Format > Merge and Center Cells" button with all the same behaviour it has on the Formatting Bar. Replaced the "Split Cells" button from the context menu of a selected merged cell with the "Merge and Center Cells" button showing the current merge status, as it does elsewhere. Also, add the "Merge and Center Cells" link to the Formatting Bar Description Help page. It was missing.
